Journal Management

This journal is owned by the publisher, the Korea Association of Teachers of English (KATE). Executive Editorial Managers are chosen from the officers of the KATE Standing Executive Board. Publishing Credentials (2020-2022)

Managers of the Review Process
Prof. Keun Huh (Hannam University) serves as Editor-in-Chief of English Teaching from 2020. She received her Ph.D. degree in English Education from Washington State University. She has published more than 40 journal papers and contributed to several elementary English textbooks and book chapters in the field of Computer-Assisted Language Learning and English education. She has won several research funds from the National Research Foundation of Korea and the US Embassy. She has worked as editors of more than three journals. Her experiences of publications and reviews helped English Teaching provide excellent papers that contribute to the development of the field of English education.
Prof. Kitaek Kim (Seoul National University) has served as Associate Editor and Editor of English Teaching from 2016 to the present. He received his Ph.D. degree in Second Language Studies from University of Hawaii at Manoa. His research interests include second language acquisition and English education, with which he has published more than 20 journal papers and 10 books. He has several research awards, including the best paper award (“Acquisition of the third person singular -s by L1-Korean adult/child learners of English”, Korean Journal of Applied Linguistics) and Fulbright grant. His research experiences helped English Teaching to select appropriate reviewers fit to aims and scope.
Prof. Josephine Mijin Lee (Ewha Womans University) is an assistant professor in the department of English Education at Ewha Womans University. Her research interests center on applying ethnomethodology and conversation analysis to studies on L2 pedagogy, classroom interaction, and pragmatics, with her most recent work appearing in international journals such as Applied Linguistics, TESOL Quarterly, Journal of Pragmatics, and Social Semiotics. She has won several research awards including the best paper award (“Metaphor use in TED Talks: Implications for EFL”) from the Sociolinguistic Society of Korea and obtained a research grant from the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Managers of the Publication Process
Prof. Kyungja Ahn (Seoul National University of Education) serves as Associate Editor of English Teaching from 2016 to the present. Since 2006 when she received her doctorate degree in Second Language Acquisition, she has published more than 40 papers in international and domestic journals in the field of English education. She received the best paper award (“Working memory and a subject-object asymmetry in L2 processing of English long-distance wh-questions” from Applied Linguistics Association of Korea (ALAK). She has worked as an editor of more than three domestic journals and a reviewer of several international journals. Her experiences of publications and review helped English Teaching to publish high-quality articles.
Prof. Hyun-Ju Kim (Dankook University) serves as Associate Editor of English Teaching from 2016 to the present. Since 2005 when she received her doctorate degree in English Education, she has published more than 30 journal papers in the field of language education and several English textbooks for secondary school students in Korea. She has several research awards including Rolland Ray Award from the Iowa Testing Programs and received ETS doctoral scholarships (“World Englishes and language testing: The influence of rater variability in the assessment process of English language oral proficiency”). She has ever worked as Associate Editor of Foreign Languages Education and her experiences of publications and review has helped English Teaching to publish appropriate articles.
Prof. Eunsook Shim (Sangji University) is a professor in the department of English at Sangji University. She received her Ph.D. degree in Second Languages Education from University of Minnesota. Her research interests include second language (L2) writing, genre analysis, English for specific purposes, and intercultural rhetoric in ESP education. She served as Associate Editor of English Teaching from 2016 to 2018 and has worked as an editor or a reviewer of domestic and international journals. Her experience of research activities helped English Teaching to publish highly qualified research papers.
Prof. Young Woo Cho (Pai Chai University) is a professor in the Department of TESOL·Business English at Pai Chai University. Professor Cho received his Ph.D. degree in second language acquisition and teaching from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and specializes in instructed SLA, multimedia-assisted language learning, and coaching for English learning. His current research focuses on coaching for self-directed language learning in a technology-based environment.
Prof. Jung In Kim (Seoul Theological University) serves as Associate Editor of English Teaching from 2020. Since 2013 when she received her doctorate degree in Foreign and Second Language Education, she has published more than 15 journal papers and has presented research studies at several international conferences in the field of English Education. Her experiences of publications and review helped English Teaching to develop as a leading international journal in English language teaching.
Ethics Editor
Prof. Tae-Young Kim (Chung-Ang University) has served as Editor of English Teaching from 2008. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Second Language Education from OISE/University of Toronto. His research interests include L2 learning and teaching (de)motivation, and the contribution of sociocultural theory and activity theory to L2 (de)motivation. He published more than 140 papers and book chapters, and his recent work has been published in international journals including System, Language and Intercultural Communication, and Journal of Language and Social Psychology. His experiences of publications and reviews helped English Teaching provide excellent papers that contribute to the field of English education.
The Statistics Editor
Prof. Jin-Hwa Lee  (Chung-Ang University) serves as Associate Editor of English Teaching from 2016 to the present. She received her Ph.D. degree in Second Language Acquisition from University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her research interests include Instructed Second Language Acquisition, TBLT, and teacher education. She has published more than 40 papers in international and domestic journals. She has worked as editors of more than three domestic journals and reviewers of several international journals. Her experiences of publications and review helped English Teaching to publish high-quality articles.
The Layout Specialist
Ms. Inkyeong Yoo has worked for Hankook publisher, being responsible for layouts of more than 10 journals including English Teaching. She is one of the best layout specialists in Korea.
